It was characterized by shapely simplification, smooth edges, flat color and lack of background detail.  Some of the influential designers who embodied the simplicity of Art Deco were Henry Dreyfus (product design), Tamara de Lempicka (painting), A.M. Cassandre (posters), Paul Poiret (fashion), and Le Corbusier (architecture).  As time went on the tendency worked its way into almost every area of design.</p>
<p>These notecards utilize die cut designs originally made for bridge tallys.  Bridge was an extremely popular recreation in the twenties and thirties, and tallys were cards given to each player on which scores were recorded.</p>
