Ve Elizabeth Cadie (1893–1956) was a pioneering American illustrator who was celebrated for her contributions to children's literature and magazines during the early twentieth century. She was employed by esteemed publishing houses such as the P. F. Volland Company and Rand McNally & Company. Beyond illustration, she made significant contributions as a designer for the W. S. George Pottery Company, notably creating the iconic "Calico" design. Her work graced the covers of prominent magazines like Child Life, garnering acclaim for her originality. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Cadie's inventive spirit led to patents for innovative designs, including a heat-insulating handle for small home appliances and a unique coffee pot design!
