Margaret Evans Price (1888-1973) was a multifaceted American artist known for her talents as a painter, illustrator, writer, muralist, and toy designer! Hailing from Western New York, she was born into the affluent and influential Evans family. Her artistic journey began with formal education and travels throughout Europe. Settling in New York City, she started a freelance career, collaborating with prestigious publishers. Her works graced galleries nationwide and adorned the pages of esteemed publications such as Pictorial Review and the Women's Home Companion. Upon marrying Irving Price, co-founder of Fisher-Price Toys, she was the company's first Art Director, designing push-pull toys based on characters from her beloved children's books.
