Louis Tauzin (1842-1915) was a versatile French artist known for his contributions as a landscape painter, poster artist, and chromolithographer. Specializing in landscapes and seascapes, he showcased his talents at numerous Paris Salons and earned recognition with two silver medals wins at expositions in Versailles. He also excelled in commercial art, serving as chef d'atelier (head of studio) at Champenois, a renowned chromolithography house in Paris. His poster designs adorned railway companies, vacation destinations, major brands, and publications like Paris-Revue. Notably, during World War I, he expressed his patriotism through artwork and anti-German, pro-French propaganda postcards. Today, his legacy endures through his diverse work, including his acclaimed scenic paintings of Meudon, a suburb of Paris overlooking the Seine.
