Girl Reading To Birds - Books & Readers Greeting Card
INSIDE GREETING: I meant to do my work today, but a brown bird sang in the apple tree, and a butterfly flitted across the field, and all the leaves were calling me.
In an apple tree, a girl reads a book to a rapt audience of birds. This charming scene is from an old children's book by Molly Benatar, a 20th-century English illustrator. Little is known about her life beyond the work she left behind, so we're delighted to keep her legacy alive through these reproductions. We've paired it with a caption that's a bit of a poem by the British poet Richard Le Gallienne (1866-1947). See this image as an art print AND on the cover of a notebook!
