Frances Tipton Hunter (1896-1957) found her artistic calling early on, illustrating children's fashion while in art school. She had a penchant for watercolor and a deep love for portraying children and pets in her art. Her popularity soared in the 1920s when she introduced beloved paper dolls in magazines. Hunter's work graced the covers of popular magazines such as The Saturday Evening PostWoman's Home Companion, and Good Housekeeping. However, her true claim to fame came in the post-World War II years when she became the era's most renowned and best-selling calendar artist. Hunter's art, filled with innocence and nostalgia, particularly in its depiction of children, has left an enduring legacy in the world of illustration.
