INSIDE GREETING: Happy Father’s Day To a Wonderful Father!
This border was originally made for a Buzza motto. The Buzza Company was founded by George Buzza in 1910 as a greeting card company, but in 1917, having a background in poster production, George expanded his offering to a line of small posters he called “Mottos.” Most of the art for these was created by George, himself. He aimed at a modern, clean and colorful style that was a departure from the heavily decorated Victorian style. The quote it encloses, by the famous and beloved Sufi poet, Rumi, acknowledges with gratitude the importance of a good father’s influence and support. Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī, or simply Rumi, was a 13th-century poet, Islamic scholar, Maturidi theologian and Sufi mystic.
