Meta Plückebaum (1876-1945), sometimes credited as Meta Weber, was a German artist and illustrator best remembered for her sensitive fine drypoint etchings of cats, dogs, and other animals. Renowned as a children's book illustrator, her extensive body of prints, original drawings, and paintings are cherished for their craftsmanship. Born in Dortmund, Germany, in 1876, she studied under the artist Hermann Pohle and received further guidance from her husband Karl. Her works frequently appear at auction and remain beloved by animal lovers!
