Description

Poor doggy! But also poor fishes!! This artwork is just one of the many spooky delights found in our Halloween catalog, where mischievous children are depicted scaring both people and animals at the window with a glowing jack-o'-lantern. Perry Emerson Thompson, often referred to as PET, was a talented staff artist for Lone Scout magazine, a publication dedicated to serving rural boys who may not have had access to traditional Boy Scout troops. The Lone Scouts provided a sense of camaraderie and outdoor education for these boys. PET's contribution to the magazine was substantial, as he illustrated not only the first cover in 1915 but also many more until his departure in mid-1923 to pursue a career in advertising. While not much more is known about his life, his legacy of magazine art remains highly valued by collectors.

Our prints are suitable for framing or can be used as is for wall display.
