Known by some as Beauty and the Sea Dragon, this exciting illustration by Willy Pogany graced the cover of the August 1916 edition of Metropolitan, a significant American magazine with a publication span from 1895 to 1925. The magazine, overseen by former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt during the tumultuous years of World War I, offered a unique blend of political discourse and literary content. Pogany's captivating artwork not only adorned the pages of this esteemed publication but also embodies the artistic spirit of the era. We believe it fits beautifully among our other mermaid illustrations! See this image as an art print!
