And The Little Dog Laughed - Storybook Classics Greeting Card
BLANK INSIDE
This is undoubtedly one silly pup! Frank Adams drew him for The Beautiful Book of Nursery Rhymes Stories and Pictures, published in the 1930s. This is the exact character that caused Old Mother Hubbard so much trouble: "She went to the tavern for white wine and red; when she came back, the dog stood on his head." Send it to a silly dog lover! See our entire Nursery Rhymes Collection!
Frank Adams (1914–1987) was an American artist known for book cover illustrations, cartoons, and paintings. He started his artistic career serving as an engineering draftsman during World War II. Notably, he gained recognition for his work in The Home Front, initially published in 1944. Filled with cartoons depicting the resilient spirit of individuals collaborating for the war effort, Adams captured scenes of camaraderie and perseverance, portraying activities such as welding, riveting, and operating machinery like forklifts.
