Art Frahm (1907–1981) was an American pin-up artist known for his campy take on the genre. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he began honing his artistic skills by taking weekend classes at the Art Institute of Chicago as a child. He started his marketing career by creating window displays for merchants and later transitioned to working as a commercial illustrator for advertising agencies. He gained fame for his "ladies in distress" pin-up series, depicting women whose underwear had fallen to their ankles in everyday situations, such as carrying groceries, much to the delight of male onlookers. His wildly popular illustrations adorned calendars, advertisements, and magazine covers, and despite the risqué nature of some of his work, Frahm's pin-up art is celebrated for its playful innocence and timeless appeal.
