Little Golden Books are renowned for their heartwarming illustrations and endearing messages. In collaboration with Random House Children’s Books, the publisher of Little Golden Books and Diane Muldrow’s Everything I Need to Know I Learned from a Little Golden Book, our cards are designed to convey warm wishes to both children and the young at heart.

Tibor Gergely (1900–1978) was a Hungarian-born artist whose enchanting illustrations have held a cherished place in countless childhood memories. His artistic career began in Vienna, where he designed stage sets and marionettes, all while working as an illustrator and cartoonist for central European newspapers. Remarkably, Gergely even tried his hand at being an "athlete" as he participated in a painting event at the 1928 Summer Olympics! His versatile talent found a lasting home in children's literature, winning the Caldecott Honor Award for his work on Margaret Wise Brown's Wheels on the Chimney. However, he's perhaps best known for his work on Little Golden Books. Gergely's contributions to over 70 of these beloved books created two of the most enduring Little Golden characters, Scuffy the Tugboat and Tootle.
