Vladimir Grigorevich Suteev (1903–1993) was a Russian author, artist, and animator renowned for his contributions to children's literature and the Soviet animation industry. Born in Moscow into a family of esteemed professionals, his upbringing was steeped in art and culture. Inspired by early experiences in cinema, he embarked on a multifaceted career encompassing directing, screenwriting, and animation. Joining the Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1936, he played a pivotal role in over 30 films, earning international acclaim for works like Petya, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Magic Store. Despite facing personal challenges, including unrequited love and the hardships of war, Suteev's passion for storytelling endured. Transitioning to children's literature, he penned numerous beloved tales, which were translated into dozens of languages and adapted into animated films. His iconic characters captivated audiences worldwide, leaving an enduring legacy in literature and animation!
