Cats at Window - Captivating Cats Art Print
These cat besties by Will Rannells may have been created earlier as a stand-alone piece. Still, we discovered them within the pages of a 1943 book titled Kittens and Cats, which offers precisely what the title suggests: illustrations and stories about kittens and cats from various artists. It's perfect for the modern cat lover! See our entire Captivating Cats Collection!
Will Rannells (1892-1982) made an enduring impact in art as both an illustrator and an educator. His illustrious career spanned several decades, during which he held the esteemed position of Professor of Commercial Art at Ohio State University for 35 years. Rannells' artistic journey took an intriguing turn when he transitioned from creating illustrations of beautiful girls to dogs, a decision that led to his first commercial success—a captivating portrait of a collie that had previously been in the arms of a girl. His exceptional talent for portraying dogs in heartwarming and playful scenes soon caught the attention of renowned publications like Judge, Life, and McCalls, where his delightful dog portraits adorned their covers for years!
