Sadie Wendell Mitchell (1887-1967) stands as a notable figure in the realm of postcard illustration. Her brother, Toronto publisher W. G. MacFarlane, owned "Canada's Largest Post Card House" for which she designed some of their most popular designs! Amid occasional credit confusion, due to her name change after marriage, her creative influence extended beyond postcards, encompassing children's book illustrations, noteworthy magazine contributions, and compelling advertising artwork. Mitchell's versatile talent left an indelible mark on diverse visual mediums, capturing the essence of her era's aesthetics and cultural nuances.
