Though he was of British descent, Williams spent the majority of his life in the United States. He gained recognition for his meticulous illustrations, bringing beloved stories to life in various mediums. He's renowned for his collaborations with Margaret Wise Brown on several Little Golden Books, featuring sweet baby animals and humans, which further enriched his contribution to the world of children's literature. His precise and whimsical illustrations for classic children's books, such as Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little by E.B. White, cemented his iconic status. Williams's work captures the charm of the characters in these stories, showcasing his profound influence on illustration in the world of children's literature.
