The title of the red book in the original advertisement reads, "Guias Afrodisio Aguado Espana y Portugal" (Spain and Portugal Guide Books). Manuel Prieto Benítez, known as Manolo Prieto (1912-1991), was a prominent Spanish painter celebrated for his masterful works that combined traditional techniques with modern influences. His artistic journey led him to embrace a variety of styles, including Realism, Cubism, and Surrealism. He demonstrated remarkable versatility in his oeuvre, producing advertisements, book covers, posters on various themes, illustrations, graphic designs, paintings, and even sculpting medals! His legacy is defined by his ability to seamlessly blend the old and the new.
