Lucile Patterson Marsh (1890–1978) was a prominent American illustrator from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was born in South Dakota and honed her artistic skills at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Archipenko School of Sculpture. Her career took off when she was awarded the American Traveling Scholarship from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1913. Her illustrations, often portraying children in familiar domestic scenes, graced the covers and pages of esteemed magazines like Woman's Home Companion and Cosmopolitan. Additionally, her talent extended to advertising, where her creations adorned campaigns for brands like Ivory soap, Jell-O, and Pet Milk. Notably, she hand-painted a billboard overlooking Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in New York City in 1917 and designed a World War I poster titled Service, Fall In! for the National League for Women's Service.
