Leslie Ragan (1897-1972), born in Woodbine, Iowa, is an icon of Art Deco poster art! Trained at the Cumming School of Art in Des Moines and the Art Institute of Chicago, his talent and dedication propelled him into a distinguished career. Serving in the United States Army's 21st Aero Service Squadron in France during World War I, he returned to pursue his passion for illustration. His iconic train illustrations, crafted during his tenure with the Office of War Information, became quintessential examples of the robust Art Deco style, often imitated but never surpassed.
