INSIDE GREETING: Have a great day!

The image's simplicity captures the essence of relaxation, enticing viewers to imagine themselves on board, perhaps on a birthday trip! This 1961 poster by artist René Gruau promotes Compagnie Maritime des Chargeurs Réunis, a shipping company founded in 1872 that later expanded into passenger transport around the time of this ad. If the stylish lady looks familiar, it's because she's based on none other than Audrey Hepburn—she was both a friend and muse to the artist!

René Gruau (1909-2004) was a renowned Italian-French fashion illustrator, celebrated for his influential and iconic work in the world of haute couture. His unique and bold style, characterized by expressive lines and a minimalistic yet impactful approach, left an indelible mark on the fashion industry.
